Denali Park Vacations & Tours

'Tis the Season for Beaumont's Christmas Holiday Festival & Parade
Beaumont, Texas (October 23, 2007)-The City of Beaumont is inviting everyone to come out and enjoy a day of festivities on Saturday, December 1st in Downtown Beaumont for the Christmas Holiday Festival & Parade.
Beaumont Mayor Becky Ames personally invites everyone to be a part of the colorful occasion and adds, "Bring your children and experience the holiday magic as we light our magnificent 50-foot Christmas tree." She continues by encouraging local businesses to decorate their storefronts with lights and ribbons, noting that the city has big plans to wrap downtown lamp posts with garland topped off with red ribbons.
7:30 a.m.-Pancake Breakfast with Santa. The $5.00 all you can eat breakfast is sponsored by Beaumont Lions Club and is located at First Baptist Church, 900 Calder Avenue.
8:00 a.m.-5K Jingle Bell Fun Run. Registration for the event starts at 8:00 a.m. and will be located at Crockett Street where participants will be given a map of the route. Admission is free and the run will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. with walkers and strollers joining at 9:15 a.m. Pre-registration forms are available at both YMCA locations or may be downloaded from www.discoverbeaumont.com or www.beaumontymca.org. 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.-Junior League of Beaumont Very Merry Main Street Market. Located inside the Beaumont Civic Center at 701 Main Street. Admission is $5.00, which is good for the entire weekend and parking is free. Plenty of vendors will be on hand to exhibit their dazzling gifts perfect for any Early Bird shoppers list. Great buys continue throughout the weekend with cocktails and raffles galore to top it off. Kids have their fair share of holiday cheer, with a Gingerbread House Workshop. 2:30 pm - 4:30 p.m.-Children's Holiday Party in Downtown's Museum District. The Art Museum of Southeast Texas, located at 500 Main Street, will have hands-on art activities for the kids including cookie decorating and ornament making. Entertainment will be provided from area choirs and the Lamar University Brass Band. Santa Clause will also make an appearance at the Art Museum to help with a special tree lighting ceremony for the kids. 5:00 p.m.-Official Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. This free ceremony is located at the Art Museum of Southeast Texas, 500 Main Street. Parade Marshals, Elected Officials, and Sponsors will participate. The First Baptist Church Choir will sing holiday hymns prior to the official lighting of Beaumont’s 50-foot Christmas tree at 5:00 p.m.
6:00 p.m.-Lighted Parade. Bundle up and bring a lawn chair to experience the free Beaumont Christmas Holiday Parade that will fill the streets of Orleans & Pearl with music, lights and candy at 6:00 p.m. The Patriot Guard Riders will lead the parade this year followed by numerous high school bands joining in the parade with their own flair of festive music, including Ozen High School and Memorial High School. The Memorial High School Drill Team will also accompany their band during the parade. The Lone Star Bagpipers, who have always added a sense of ambiance to the joyous occasion, will appear again this year as well. Vendors will be located along the parade route selling hot links, pretzels, hot chocolate and other food items. With a history of over 125 float entries in previous years and many entries already confirmed for this year, the parade promises to be the best one yet! About the Patriot Guard Riders: The Patriot Guard Riders is a diverse amalgamation of riders from across the nation whose primary mission is to attend the funeral services of fallen American heroes as invited guests of the family.
8:00 p.m.-The City of Beaumont & the Southeast Texas Arts Council Presents: A Holiday Gospel Concert. Concert will be held at the Julie Rogers Theatre. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door on the night of the event, cash only. Prices are: Adults-$8.00, Children 6-12-$5.00, Children 5 and under-Free. All proceeds benefit the Southeast Texas Arts Council.
All Day-MadNonnie.com Outdoor Holiday Movies. These free movies will be located near the Julie Rogers Theatre on Forsythe Street.
